Loomis Austin Personnel Assist Commercial Real Estate Women Executives in Coaching Austin's Girl Scouts

April 28, 2007

Loomis Austin participated in a day-long event led by the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Austin Network to educate Central Texas area Girl Scouts on the career opportunities available in the commercial real estate industry.

Girl Scouts aged 11 through 17 toured the newly designed Mueller community developed by the Catellus Development Group. They attended short classes on how to develop, sell and manage a commercial real estate project from leading women real estate brokers, appraisers, lawyers, interior designers and property managers. Personnel from the engineering firm Loomis Austin, Inc., a sponsor of such CREW outreach activities, were on hand to discuss engineering and surveying aspects of the site development process.

"Our goal through CREW Careers is to provide these Girl Scouts with insight into substantial and professional careers in the commercial real estate sector. This event reflects the mission of CREW, which is to encourage women in the field of commercial real estate to become leaders," said M'Lou Patton Bell, the secretary of CREW AUSTIN's board of directors.

Greater Texas Landscapes is a local sponsor for Austin CREW Careers. National event sponsors include Cushman & Wakefield, KeyBank and Starbucks.
