Projects: Endangered Species and Conservation Planning

Winters Mill Parkway (Wimberley Bypass) Environmental Assessment
and Permitting,
Hays County, Texas

LAI provided environmental services for the planning of Winters Mill Parkway (Wimberley Bypass)
in Hays County, Texas.  LAI environmental staff conducted an endangered species survey and
habitat assessment of the proposed bypass route.  LAI also prepared a Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination and Pre-construction Notification for the proposed project, which supported the use
of a U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Nationwide Permit to satisfy the requirements of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.  An Endangered Species Act Section 7 Consultation was
also completed between the USACE and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, with the assistance of a Biological Assessment prepared by LAI, to address endangered species issues along the
proposed bypass route.
