Urban Watersheds Integrated
Solutions Development,
Austin, Texas
|
Loomis Austin, Inc. served as prime contractor to the City of Austin's
Watershed Protection
Department for implementation of the "Integrated Solutions Development" (ISD)
Study. This investigation was the final element of a systematic evaluation
by the City of existing and anticipated flood, water quality, and erosion
problems. The goal of the ISD project was to define optimal City of Austin
structural (CIP), programmatic, and regulatory initiatives to solve existing
and anticipated problems within the 17 urban watersheds over a 40-year
planning horizon. Project deliverables included final long-term
recommendations for implementation of capital projects, new and improved
programmatic initiatives, and regulatory programs. A primary element of this
project was evaluation of the need for conservation easement and land
acquisition projects targeting long-term water quality enhancement, flood
control and environmental protection. Work included preliminary design and
costing for all solutions. |
