Endangered Species and Conservation Planning

The endangered species conditions of a project can vary over a wide range, from easy compliance with the Endangered Species Act by simply avoiding endangered species, to large-scale conservation plans involving multiple species and overlapping political jurisdictions. The staff of Loomis Austin is thoroughly qualified to assist with either.

We offer the full spectrum of endangered species consultation and conservation planning assistance. Our staff is experienced with ecological conservation planning for municipal, county and state agencies and private industry. We have prepared Section 7 Biological  Assessments and Section 10 Habitat Conservation Plans for areas ranging from 0.5 acre to 300,000 acres, for single species and multi-species ecosystem plans (such as the Balcones Canyonlands Conservation Plan. We have conducted numerous habitat assessments and species surveys for many federally and state listed species, including the black-capped vireo, golden-cheeked warbler, bald eagle, piping plover, red-cockaded woodpecker, ocelot, jaguarundi, black-footed ferret, Houston toad, Michaux's sumac, rough-leaved loosestrife, Navasota ladies'-tresses, and endangered cave invertebrates (e.g., Tooth Cave spider).
